Runner's Knee |
DESCRIPTION:
RUNNER’S KNEE also known as Chondromalacia Patella refers to pain in the kneecap and is caused by friction or irritation to the under surface of the kneecap. It is common to have runner’s knee occur due to poor biomechanics while running. Correction of the mechanics can take strain off the knee and alleviate the pain.
- MARATHON RUNNER
I have been a runner for over 30 years. During that time, I have never taken the time to stretch or think about the wear and tear on my body. It all caught up with me about mile 20 in the 2002 Chicago Marathon when my right knee gave out. As I hobbled through the last 6 miles, I thought my running days were over. Fortunately, a friend recommended Dr. Bob Kaminski as someone who could help me. Thanks to Dr. Kaminski and A.R.T. therapy, I continue to run and enjoy healthy knees. He is a perfectionist who understands running and runners. He has given me effective stretches to do on a daily basis. Thanks to him, I plan on running for the rest of my life.
