Pudendental Nerve Syndrome |
|
|
DESCRIPTION:
PUDENTAL NERVE SYNDROME – perineal pain (pain in the anal region, perineum, penis, scrotum or vulva) often called Cyclists’ Syndrome aggravated by sitting and relieved by standing.
- In August of 2003 I had my second cesarean. Almost immediately after I was sent home, I knew that something wasn't right. I went back to the doctor and after several examinations he could find nothing wrong. Off and on through the years, I had several sharp pains in the scar area, with a stretch or pulling sensation when moving in certain situations, or trying to do extensive exercising. The pain soon became more intense and became a chronic situation. After several tests, x-rays and examinations by others and one steroid injection, no reason for this constant and consistent pain could be found. Exploratory surgery was recommended. However, in my mind, and with reasonable medical aptitude, surgery to correct "something" that didn't show up on tests, lead me to believe this could be a problem more with adhesions and/or nerve entrapment. After months of living with this pain, so intense sometimes, especially the more I sat, the more I hurt, I came upon Active Release Techniques. I had lost range of motion in my right leg, and to move or stretch was almost impossible. After just three or four treatments in your office, I felt so much better. I would say that I had reached 85% by the end of May. In just two months!
I would like to say that I commend you for taking the initiative as a Doctor of Chiropractic, to further your education to assist those like me where this technique can and is so beneficial. I also want to thank your staff for all their help, support, and understanding during my treatments. They were always cordial, professional, and knowledgeable on any questions that I had once I left your immediate office. Thanks you for all of the TLC.
– STACY E.
