Ankle Pain |
DESCRIPTION:
ANKLE PAIN is commonly due to a sprained ankle. Ankle sprains come in two forms- inversion sprains and eversion sprains. Inversion sprains are most common and are seen among basketball and volleyball players. Muscles and tendons around the ankle and shin are damaged when the ankle is sprained. Active Release Technique protocols can quickly treat the tendons and ligaments to help get you back on your feet quicker. A proper ankle strengthening program is essential to help prevent recurring ankle sprains.
- I had severely sprained my ankle playing baseball. Most of the swelling had been gone for six weeks but I still had a large amount of pain when anything other than walking was attempted, and I had very limited flexibility. I had tried various methods hoping that improvement would occur but nothing seemed to have any impact. I was starting to panic as I had a major tournament coming up that I knew I would not be able to play in unless there was a major change in my condition. Upon recommendation of a competitive runner, I made an appointment with Dr. Lake. After the first visit, the improvement I had was nothing short of miraculous. After the second visit three days later, I was able to play four games in two days at a performance level of at least 90%. After my third visit I was at 100%. I played in the major tournament and was able to play 7 games in 5 days with no problems.
Thanks Dr. Lake. I could not have done this without you.
– TIM J.
